How to Get Food in Smalland
When you are playing a survival game then food automatically becomes the number 1 priority for every gamer. Now, in the Smalland food plays a crucial role in survival as it is directly related to the player’s health. if you want to get food in smalland then you need to do lots of gathering and scavenging.
But there are mainly 2 ways to obtain food in smalland
- Harvesting Food
- Killing Animals
The easiest and fastest way to obtain food is to farm mushrooms. One of the best food items in the game right now. Mushrooms are available in the overland and you can farm and grind them easily.
Best Food Item in the Smalland
There are plenty of sources of food available in the jungle. You can easily find edible items, such as mushrooms, fruits, and honey crumbs. But if you unlocked Stone Oven early on then you can cook food on Stone Oven. It’s always the best option to cook food with stone over as it always provides fixed and static stats adding 70 Food and preventing loss of Nourishment for 720 seconds.
But in reality, You have to wait to unlock the STONE OVEN. it’s not an early-game item. You have to progress a bit of the story, unlock specific NPCs and quests then you can unlock the Stone Oven. You can follow our dedicated guide on how to make STONE OVEN.
So, for early access, your best bet on food would be MUSHROOM STEAK. There will be plenty of mushrooms available in your inventory even at the early time of the game. You can always and easily cook Mushroom Steak with so many mushrooms.
How to Unlock Recipes Smalland Survive the Wilds
I have already explained to you how easy it is to farm and gather raw food in the Smalland. but if you are looking for a method to unlock recipes, and wondering about the different ingredients and various cooking tools then it may not be as easy and simple for you as it assumes.
I’m not trying to make it a very difficult task but it’s a little complex compared to getting food only.
First of all, if you are looking for specific ingredients then you may need to kill a respective animal for a specific body part. lets you want to make Gecko Treat then you need to farm the Bees to get a Bees Head. When you get a body part from an animal as an ingredient it will automatically unlock a recipe for you.
Second, There are different types of cooking fires available in the game like Campfires, Cauldrons, and Stone Ovens. You need a stonecutter to craft these cooking fires. These cooking fires work in very similar ways as it does in other games Let’s say if you cook something with Campfire then it will provide you better food and some stats but if you cook the same stuff with Cauldrons then you will get better output and quality. The same goes with Stone Ovens too, you can even make much better and superior quality stuff with stone ovens.
You can easily consider and remembers them as tier or rarity system of the cooking fires so you can use them in future. There are some restrictions too for specific items. let me give another example of it let’s say if I want to cook Wolf Spider Treat then I need to unlock Stone Ovens, otherwise, I would not be able to cook Wolf Spider Treat with Campfire.
